Guided visits

The Gallery's programme of guided visits are designed to assist your students by:

  • Providing an understanding of the social and cultural contexts that gave rise to particular art works.
  • Examining works, which illustrate how people express their beliefs, values and feelings about the world.
  • Investigating how art is made, viewed and valued and the significance of these works to both individuals and societies.
  • Encouraging students to analyse, interpret, and evaluate meaning in art and to use appropriate terminology in articulating these ideas.

To view and print the Guided Tour programme for 2006, which is in Portable Document format (PDF), you will need Adobe Acrobat. This is available for free downloading from the Adobe website.
