Public transport

Buses from all suburbs take you into the heart of the city. Once in Downtown Auckland, the Gallery is just a short walk up from Queen Street.

If you are in an inner city suburb, jump on The Link bus and be dropped right outside the Gallery on the corner of Kitchener and Wellesley Streets.

Contact Maxx on (64 9) 366 6400 for the bus, train or ferry that will suit your travelling needs.
 

Private vehicle

By car there are three public car parks within 400 metres of the Gallery. Street pay parking is available along Kitchener Street.

Disabled parking is available on the left hand side of Kitchener Street, just beyond the entrance to the Main Gallery.

Parking

Weekend Easy Parking
There is a special rate of $4 all day on Saturdays, Sundays and Public holidays at the Victoria Street car park. Enter via Kitchener Street or turn left at the top of Victoria Street.

After hours parking
A special rate of $4 is available every day after 5pm at the Victoria Street car park. Enter via Kitchener Street or turn left at the top of Victoria Street.

Vouchers for either Weekend Easy Parking or After Hours Parking are available from the front desks in both Galleries.
 

Visitors policies

So that everyone's visit is as pleasant as possible, please observe the following conditions of entry.

Please do not touch the works of art on display.

Cloakroom
The Art Gallery requires visitors to check umbrellas, backpacks of any size, shopping bags, and bags 280 x 355 mm [11 x 14 inches] or larger. The Gallery reserves the right to refuse other items and is not responsible for items held by the checkroom.

Mobility Access
Wheelchair access to the Gallery is available at the Khartoum Place entrance. Wheelchairs are available from the main desk free of charge.

Cameras
Photography is not permitted in the Gallery. Permission may be granted for the purpose of private study and research if no reproduction is available and copyright law permits.

Strollers
Baby strollers are welcome in the Gallery. Parents please note that children are not permitted to push strollers in the gallery.

Food and Drinks
No food and drink is permitted in the Gallery.

No Smoking
Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the Gallery.

Dogs
Dogs are not admitted: guide dogs for sight and hearing impaired visitors are welcome.
