The Symposium will provide a conduit to consider forces, events and
terms that have become completely em-bedded in our daily lives; 'public'
and 'private' have assumed a metaphorical life more than ever before -
private spaces in architecture and urban planning -the physicality of our
surroundings as well as the social structures that exist within them.
The symposium is jointly organised by Auckland
Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki and the University of Auckland's School of
Architecture. It will offer a broad range of papers, panel discussions
from international and local speakers and artists who will investigate
some of the issues raised by the exhibition.
