'Emotional quietness'

I used the Gallery Guide publication as a central text and point of departure. This work is called 4 Walls, 3 Layers, 2 Marks, 1 Light. It creates a downtown bus station effect of a very darkened room with looming tags, almost graffiti-iced names. As the viewer moves into the darkness, you get a twilight sense of a roll call of contemporary art performances of the last 40-50 years of the gallery. I honour those extraordinary performances.
