5 4 3 2 1 : Auckland Artist Projects celebrates the Gallery's history in engaging with commissioned artist projects. Auckland artists Lisa Reihana, John Reynolds, Seung Yul Oh, Andrew McLeod and Peter Madden have created new works that look both to the Gallery's past and to its future. Responding to the Gallery's collections, building, site and the many exhibitions seen within it, these artists offer a personal response on the eve of the building's closure for redevelopment.

These are extended by sound and performance projects, curated by Andrew Clifford, in which a new generation of artists is showcased.
