A Public Programme of lectures, tours, gallery talks and other events will take place at the three venues over the duration of Bright Paradise. Sabina Ott (USA) and Justine Kurland (USA) will be visiting Artists in Residence at the University of Auckland in March and April respectively.

Triennial Symposium 3rd - 4th March 2001. Go to the symposium page to register.

Artists in Paradise Floor talks with artists represented in The 1st Auckland Triennial: Bright Paradise,in the New Gallery. Artists include Ruth Watson (N.Z./Australia), and local artists including Michael Parekowhai who each spend about fifteen minutes in front of their work. For final confirmation, phone 307 7700.

Floor talk Allan Smith, Curator Contemporary Art talks about the New Gallery works in Bright Paradise The 1st Auckland Triennial.

Lecture Sabina Ott, American artist with Bright Paradise presents an illustrated overview of her work. Sabina currently has an installation work in the University of Auckland Gallery at The Kenneth Myer Centre, Shortland Street.

1pm THURS 15 MARCH
Commentary. Peter Shand, Head of Theory, Elam School of Fine Art, University of Auckland, overviews the Bright Paradise works in the New Gallery in relation to the concept of this first Auckland Triennial.
