Colin McCahon and Frances Hodgkins

The collection of Colin McCahon’s work grew through purchases, gifts from the McCahon family and a major bequest from the artist, who died in 1987. Colin McCahon and Frances Hodgkins were for many years the only two artists named in the Art Gallery’s Acquisitions Policy and the Hodgkins collection has also continued to grow steadily.
